I am appalled that the great state of Virginia is actually considering requiring doctors to submit PERSONAL information of their patients to the government if they just happen to have the flu! What happened to the rights of the patient or access to personal information? Why does anyone need this? This is a total invasion of privacy and provides a slippery slope to reporting personal information for other illnesses. Doing something like this not only should be illegal but will lead to people not going to the doctor if they don't want the government to have this information.
I hope the representatives of our government think twice about the possible consequences of this very personally invasive legislation. I do not understand how this would even be allowed legally.
