We are a 30 year old business with a solid reputation for quality & service. We agree completely with the 2 comments submitted by Gentry Septic Tank Service. Our additional comments are:
1. Was a cost impact assessment addressing small business installers/maintainers ever accomplished? We believe the costs of licensing including lost revenue from the time spent in training classes will exceed $10,000/year - a huge sum for a small business.
2. The profit margins in our competitive business are low in normal times and near zero (or worse) or many installer/maintainers in today's struggling economy. The bankruptcy failures in our area are devastating. Is this the time to be placing additional financial burdens on these small businesses, undoubtedly forcing more of them out of business? Isn't it possible to implement the driving legislation without placing immediate financial hardships on struggling businesses?
3. We are proud of our small contribution to preserving the quality of our Commonwealth's soil and the health of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. There are many less costly ways of assuring quality without placing unnecessary burdens on small businesses, as suggested by the comments made by others who are concerned.
