I find it incredible that a VDH employee with the following resume will not be qualified to sit for the alternative onsite soil evaluator license exam on July 1.
* 24 years of site and soil evaluation experience
* 24 years of onsite system design experience
* 24 years of onsite regulatory experience with VDH
* 17 years of experience evaluating private sector designs of alternative systems
* B.S. degree with a major in Geology
* Certified by VDH as an Authorized Onsite Soil Evaluator
* VA CPSS
* Designated Field Examiner (DFE) for VDH
Submitting evidence of completing 12 alternative system designs (i.e. basically conventional designs plus manufacturer cut sheets for alternative components) OR working as a conventional OSE for 4 years will not make the above person better qualified to evaluate / design alternative systems.
Anyone who is an authorized onsite soil evaluator or an interim onsite soil evaluator should be allowed to take the alternative OSE exam.
