I oppose the "loose" definition of VALID photo ID to approve an individual's right to vote in our State and Federal elections.
Even if a genuine state issued Photo ID for identification or driver's license is presented there is no guarantee that this person is who it says they are. Do our appointed board members need to be reminded how many DMV officials have provided fraudulent documentation to supply illegal aliens with drivers licenses using false names plus no driving test?
Not just in our state but many others, so why would we allow this form of ID to be the proof of the right to vote?
Our Voter's Registration Card should be required to be presented with a current and valid Federal-State government photo document. Our Virginia Department of Elections should insure that each registered voter is issued a new card with a security hologram and barcode like our driver licenses, mailed to each registered voter every 2-4 years or sooner if requested. This important document should be required to be presented at the polling location in additon to a photo ID as that required by the Federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The "right to vote" amendments to our nation's constitution refers to "The Citizens of the United States" and only a LEGAL CITIZEN 18 years of age or older should be honored with this privilage.
If not, then shame on us for we do not honor the men and women who serve our country currently and for the over 200 years of Americans who fought and died defending this right!
