It is crucial that the new Photo ID regulations retain the definition of "valid" ID to inlcude expired licenses and other Photo ID that simply establish that the person is who he or she says for purposes of voting. Without that allowance, the motives of the people insisting on this change become very questionable. It would seem they are not concerned about voting fraud as they claim but instead about limiting voting rights. We have a number of elderly people--faithful voters--in a large retirement community near us who were very happy about the expired license allowance. Without that, all 2000 of them would likely have to be bussed to our local registrar, with their walkers and the like, to apply for this unnecessary piece of paper.
