Needless Harm

Action 4905 causes needless harm. For instance, existing scientific literature generally finds transgender athletes on HRT perform about the same as cisgender athletes. One review found that: "Available evidence indicates trans women who have undergone testosterone suppression have no clear biological advantages over cis women in elite sport." (Transgender Women
Athletes and Elite Sport: A Scientific Review
).

And the policy goes further than just athletics to denying access to spaces. This denial of freedom does nothing to help anyone, but it almost certain to increase the rates that trans people themselves are victims of assaults. Moreover, such policies are often applied against cisgender women who look even a little bit masculine. Cisgender and trans women will both be harmed. This will not "protect women". It does the opposite

Don't support a policy of harm. Please oppose action 4905
