Object to the dismissive tone by DMAS!!!!!!!!!

We express deep disappointment that Legally Responsible Individuals (LRIs) who care for their disabled children must still justify their eligibility as paid caregivers under Consumer Directed Services. While we acknowledge the intent behind the proposed amendments, we strongly object to the dismissive tone reflected in its stipulations. This objection is not just a formality; it's a firm stance against the dismissive treatment of LRIs. The requirement to submit an “advertisement” and “interview notes” as part of the documentation is an undue and unreasonable burden. Mandating a job description for a role that offers no benefits yet demands intensive caregiving is, quite simply, irrational. This requirement exemplifies the condescending attitude of the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) toward family caregivers.
