General Notice: Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine

On May 28, 2019, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services established a Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine for Frederick County and the City of Winchester. The purpose of the quarantine is to slow the spread of the Spotted Lanternfly to uninfested areas of the Commonwealth. Additional information regarding the quarantine, including the text of the quarantine, is available on the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ (VDACS) website.
VDACS is seeking public comment regarding this quarantine to provide additional information to the Board of Agriculture and Consumer Services (Board) regarding whether the Board should establish this temporary quarantine as a permanent quarantine. This public comment forum will begin on June 10, 2019, and conclude on July 9, 2019.
