Summary: On March 21, 2022, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Norfolk District published a notice announcing the issuance of two 2022 State Programmatic General Permits (SPGPs) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as 22-SPGP-RCIR (Residential, Commercial, Institutional and Recreational) and 22-SPGP-LT (Linear Transportation) (collectively, 2022 SPGPs), including general conditions and definitions. The 2017 SPGP (17-SPGP-01) is expected to expire on May 31, 2022.
Purpose of this notice: The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ), under the authority of the State Water Control Board (Board), is giving notice of its tentative Section 401 Water Quality Certification decision for the 2022 SPGPs, as attached to this notice. This notice is requesting public comment beginning March 29, 2022.
How to comment: Comments shall include the full name, address and telephone number of the person commenting and be received by VDEQ by 11:59 p.m. on April 28, 2022. Only those comments received within this period will be considered by VDEQ.
