Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comments on an application from Virginia Electric and Power Company for an amendment to the Prevention of Significant Deterioration permit for changes to material handling equipment and processes at the Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center. The facility is classified as a major source of air pollution and is located just north and east of Alternate Route 58 in Virginia City, Wise County, Virginia. The applicant proposes changes to material handling operations at the Curley Hollow Solid Waste Management Facility and adjustment of air flow through material handling facilities. There is no increment consumed as a result of these changes. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the affected material handling processes and equipment after the proposed changes would be limited to: 37.86 tons per year of filterable particulate matter (PM); 15.25 tons per year of PM-10; and 7.45 tons per year of PM-2.5. There is no adverse impact expected on local air quality as a result of the proposed changes. The public may review the draft permit and application at the DEQ office named below or at the J. Fred Matthews Memorial Library, 16552 Wise Street, St. Paul, Virginia. Copies of the documents may be requested from the contact person listed above. | |
