I OPPOSE this bill.... Even as a nurse. There is an ethical dilemma called slippery slope, shyly nabbed because the first action of the slippery slope often makes some sort of sense. However, once passed, it opens the door to more and more medical legislature that is less and less ethical. This information can also begin to be used by insurance companies to help then decide to deny coverage, land in the wrong hands as the government should not have access to sensitive medical information that they are unable to keep secure. The government is NOT bound by HIPAA and therefore can share with anyone, unkind your doctor and health care team who is bound buy a need to know clause or only those you designate. Stop the government over reach!!!
