Due to the comprehensive treatment provided by a Dental Hygienist, including that of Class I patients, I would ask that Dental Assistants not be allowed to perform these expanded functions.  The standard of care in dental offices should remain consistent, whether we are treating a Class I patient or a Class III patient.
