To address the concerns raised, it is recommended to revise the hours limit to align with the number of hours approved based on the individual's specific care needs. This approach ensures that the care hours are tailored to the individual's requirements rather than imposing a rigid and arbitrary limit. Additionally, maintaining the option for family members to act as the EOR acknowledges their inherent trust, familiarity, and commitment to providing care. The existing oversight mechanisms by service facilitators and local CSBs through case management adequately monitor and supervise the care provided. Stripping families of the ability to choose family members as the EOR and imposing unnecessary requirements only impede access to care, disrupt continuity, and diminish the overall quality of care delivered. It is crucial to reconsider these proposed requirements considering the potential adverse consequences for individuals and families needing care services.
