Allowing people to carry the option of open or concealed carry with permit is the best choice for protecting one's self in a possibly hostile enviroment.  A hiker, bird watcher, etc., stumbles opon a drug lab, rabid animal, ect., they can protect themselves if nessasary while going for help.  Having both carry options available allows more freedom in how we dress for the woods especialy in summer. 

  The criminals aren't going to listen to this law any more than they do any other.  So, the only people you are depriving from protecting themselves are the law abiding citizens who have a right to feel safe.
