Speaking as a patient I for one would not want a partially trained person working in my mouth or any other part of my body. In comparison it would be like handing a nurse a scalpel and asking her to do heart surgery. Scaling to me is not a minor procedure, it is perfected through rigorous training that could not be encompassed in a short 4 week training session. I feel that you would be doing patients a major injustice by turning over this procedure to a poorly trained assistant.
