Please consider when voting, registered dental hygienists have approximately 2 years of clinical training. Most scaling is done by feel not by sight. This takes several years of training not only in instrumentation but dental anatomy and head and neck anatomy. Most dentists would agree that registered dental hygienists are more accurate when scaling teeth than dentists because dental students have approximately one semester of dental hygiene training. I fear that there will be a lack of training with the dental assistant II proposition.
