I believe allowing assistants to place IVC devalues LVTs.  We work hard and to become formally educated to be able to perform certain tasks.  If we start allowing anyone to perform those tasks then it will reduce the amount of people that will want to become LVTs.  Personally I wouldn't want an employee that is not a student, LVT, or DVM placing an IVC in my own pet.  It's a step back in the standard of medicine.
