I urge you to support the petition to allow the carry of firearms in state forests.  First, it is an extension of existing Virginia law that allows open carry in public areas, thus re-establishing the Second Amendment rights guaranteed to citizens.  Second, while it would be wonderful to think such action would be unnecessary, the reality of today is that it is increasingly necessary where law enforcement reaction time is substantially greater than mine, or anyone else's, as a potential victim of crime.  I urge you to support this petition.
