I support the petition. It extends  the scope of permitted carry to state forests which is overdue.

As we have seen from nearly a decade of experience with "shall issue" CCH permits, the predicted harm has not materialized and indeed there has been a clear effect in crime reduction.

However, there are certain places where citizens are denied their rights to reasonable self defense with a firearm, state forests being one. Criminals, of course, pay no attention to restrictions on firearms of course. One who sets out to rob or murder or rape does not abandon that plan because it's not permitted to use a firearm. Rather, they will do so regardless of restrictions applied to honest citizens. Hence  rules and regulations that prevent a CCH permit holder from exercising that right disarms the honest citizen and does nothing to prevent crime.
