There's no difference between a State Forest and anywhere else in the state

I carry a gun wherever I legally can. I also have a first aid kit, and CPR mask, on my belt. I have an emergency kit and fire extinguisher in my car.  While we're at it, I also have car insurance, home insurance, and health insurance.  I hope that I won't have a use for any of the above. However, they are all items which, if needed, would be VERY badly needed.

I choose to be responsible for my own safety and security. That includes being prepared to defend myself, should the need arise.  No law-enforcement agency in the world, can promise instant response. The phrase, "there's never a cop around when you need one" is true, but not because law enforcement officers are incompetent. Rather, criminals won't commit crimes in the presence of police.

Please allow me to take responsibility for my own safety, in State Forests.
