The L’Arche community model is formed with the caregivers (sometimes an entire family) of the residents to reside in the group home. This is essential for this model of living which encourages greater independence of its residents, as well as the residents’ assurance in a home that is loving and secure with this family structure in place.  

Please remove the language from this proposed that excludes the caregivers from living in the group home with the residents. Such an action places these individuals at great risk and diminishes their dignity as human beings.
