age 4  - Please modify the proposed definition of Group Home to allow live-in assistants.

The proposed regulations defines a Group Home as “a congregate service in a community-based home having eight or fewer residents that provides 24-hour supervision by persons in direct care positions who do not live in the home.”

Please delete the phrase, “who do not live in the home.”   This adversely affects community homes in which assistants live with those with intellectual disabilities, such as L'Arche homes.  These homes are beautiful solutions to much needed care-giving in our community for those who need loving assistance.  This model of community living is an example that should be followed, supported and duplicated, not restricted and undermined. Please visit one of these homes and see how fantastic they are before you vote!
