iv catheter placement

licensed veterinarian techs aka veterinary nurses . have gone thru the training  to be licensed in the state of virginia.  they have chosen to learn  to earn . licensed vet tech  are a profession  just like veterinarians are.  vet  techs  deserve the respect  of the veterinary community  and veterinary boards.  i over heard a comment by a  corporate veterinary  regional director saying we do not hire vet tech ,its too expensive.  well get  ready for a new reality.  by standing up for what we know is   right we elevate  our veterinary profession and those dedicated veterinary technicians.   please do not  claim  oh there is just not enough  veterinary technicians to go around.  we have a licensed veterinary technician  who works 1-2  day a week for us and other days at several other veterinary hospital , including  emergency work..  this vet tech tells me she works because she wants to not because she has too.   i just read where the veterinary technician programs are specializing.

so i am apposed to unlicensed  veterinary assistants  putting in iv catheters.

sincerely
