Acupuncture has been developed and practiced over several thousands of years on the east Asian region. In order to practice acupuncture, we have to start from its profound philosophy such as Yin and Yang theory or five elements and then apply it to a patients symptom(s) and then pull out a proper diagnosis. That's the reason why we are primary care doctors because we diagnose. Where is the diagnosis for dry needling? Trigger points? That's already one of our technique developed long time ago. Also, it's just technique - not diagnosis based approach. Just taking out the 'needling' part and renaming it doesn't meet the adequate quality of treatment. Again, it has to be treatment based on diagnosis, not technical manipulation, and even the technical part is a copied version of acupuncture.
