I oppose any dental assistant scaling and I am speaking from being a former dental asistant for seventeen years before I became a dental hygienist. Dental assistants have their place in a private practice just as hygienists do. You will be letting someone perform a professional service without professional training. A few classes... is lowerering the standard of care. Speaking as an educator, do not jeopardize the standard of dental care in Virginia.
