I just wanted to help clarify that the Dental Health Aide Therapist (DHAT) that is authorized by the Indian Health Care Improvement Act has to complete a two-year program that includes 2,400 hours of didactic education and clinical training. The dentists that keep referencing this need to do their homework. This type of training is not offered anywhere near Virginia. This type of training is offered in Washington State. The DHAT's work to take care of the rural Alaskan natives and people in different countries. This reference should not even be considered especially for Virginia.
