I do NOT agree with allowing dental assistants to perform any scaling.  I am a recent graduate and worked very hard to become a dental hygienist.  I do not believe it is in the best interest of Virginia to allow this.  It is extremely important to me that the people of Virginia receive SAFE and QUALITY care.  The kind of care that only hygienists are trained to give!  I hope that you will decide to protect the people of Virginia by not approving this new regulation.
