I would be soooo upset if I were a pt and a dental asst was legally able to scale my teeth!  Our pts deserve to have thorough  OHI and scalings which DAssts cannot provide without RDH school!  Are you people crazy thinking that it is okay to charge a pt for a prophy and having an asst do it opposed to a RDH?  That is a total rip off and a total scam.  Shame on you doctors who support this.  Is an increase in your bottom line worth taxing your patients from having thorough dental hygiene care?  I didn't think so!
