I do not support scaling by the Dental Assistant II profession. It is of great importance that higher education be obtained to prevent harm and malpractice to the patients. Dental Hygienists receive lengthy training to perform the duties that they perform and it is not to be taken lightly or received by assistants on the job in a few short hours of training. Patient education and safety are the number one concern of our patients and training and diligence is extremely important when the patient does receive these types of services.
