If access to care and reduced financial burden is the reason for allowing DA II to scale, then why don't we start at the top and let the RDH do simple restorations? The public needs to know that just because someone has a DDS licence, it doesn't make them an educator. What class did they take in dental school to prepare them to teach scaling to another person? What safeguards will be in place to regulate just who is going to be allowed to perform such tasks? Will they need formal training? Too many questions and no safeguards for the public equals disaster.
