This action would reverse the high standard of care we strive to provide for Virginia dental patients!  What a disservice we would be forcing upon our patients by expecting them to accept sub-standard care maybe without their knowledge!

I think some of the DDS's out there don't realize or appreciate the education requirements we had to meet in order to attain a hygiene liscense.  This goes way beyond scaling, like oral cancer detection and disease control and the systemic and oral correlation.    You would be cheating your patients of the best possible oral care with this action, not to mention possible negligence and malpractice!

We are specialists in instrumentation, prevention and periodontal therapy.  Why would you want anything less for your patients!!!
