I am currently enrolled in the Old Dominion University School of Dental Hygiene.  On behalf of those of us nearing graduation and those who will come in the furture we URGE you  NOT to award dental assistants the position of scaling (regardless of class) for the safety of  patients as well as for the security for each and every Dental Hygienist that has had to earn their right to do their job and do it well . Please don't allow our profession to be taken for granted.
