I urge you to consider patients first.

This has been proposed before and was not permitted for the same reasons my fellow hygienist, dentists and patients have pointed out.  Patient care should be foremost in the dental profession.  With years of formal training and continuing education I have been able to act as a second pair of eyes for the doctor and with the increasing responsiblity of whole body health through patient education and treatment it is unbeleivable that this should resurface. Scaling and patients recare appointments should be with a licensed dentist or dental hygienist.
