I strongly oppose this proposal. There is no way a student that only has to go to school for eight weeks can learn the same amount of information that a student that goes to school for four years can. Why would anyone choose to pay to go through a four-year program at a college or university when they can only go through an eight-week course at a technical school to get the same information and skills? It does not make any sense. Dental hygenists are different from dental assistants for a reason; dental hygenists learn skills that dental assistants do not learn.
