Many cities around the world have statues and buildings that represent something that no longer aligns with contemporary thought. In Rome we see statues of (dictator) Ceasar as well as the Roman Coliseum where thousands were killed. Nevertheless contemporary visitors can view these structures with the benefit of hindsight and history. Richmond is no different. The statues belong on Monument Ave and I invite the city to increase the number of statues to give the existing ones some modern context that reflect Richmond's more modern mindset today in the 21st century.
