Please do not allow the inadequately trained assistants to perform this procedure. I am alarmed by the general trend in the health fields to push assistants on the unsuspecting patients who believe they are receiving expert care. The cost savings are not passed on to the patient, but serve to profit the practioner who may or may not be exercising conscientious supervision. I'm paying for more than supervision, I'm paying for -- and expect -- expertise. In this case, the expert is a hygienist.
Respectfully,
Steve Riffee
