As a former CDA I can honestly say I was never prepared to properly scale teeth and to evaluate hard and soft tossue problems in the human mouth. I would not feel confident without dental hygiene training for the safety of the patient. Now that many diseases are noticed in the mouth first ; would allowing a quickly trained person be responsible for something so important a good choice for the greater good?
