I support the new regulation, but I am asking for
a hearing on allowing for the open carry of handguns State Forests.
That would bring State Forests into compliance with a formal opinion
(08-043) published in September 2008 by the Virginia Attorney General--

The AG has held DGIF in violation twice because they were never granted
authority to regulate firearms (state parks). This is an attempt to regulate firearms without going through the legal process under the Virginia Constitution-again-- so a hearing must be scheduled to allow for modification to allow open carrying of firearms.
