As a licensed psychologist involved in the training of counselors in the neighboring state of Maryland, I strongly oppose the adoption of the National Counselor Licensure for Endorsement Process (NCLEP) plan in Virginia.  While I wholeheartedly support licensure portability in general, this specific plan is harmful in that it will ultimately restrict portability and diminish access to quality mental health services for residents of Virginia.
