PLEASE SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY AND DO NOT LIMIT ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH

As a professional in the field of social work with expertise in family violence, trauma, PTSD and supportive services, please do not limit services for the citizens in our community.  Many times currently we have wait lists when we need immediate access to mental health services for our citizens.  So if you change Medicaid as we know it, MANY of our citizens will not have immediate access to mental health services and this will cause further serious issues in our community.  This lack of access can cause violence, further emotional trauma, and possibly suicide.   As license eligible professionals who are working to finish their degrees, it is imperative they have the direct service experience under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.  Our community is greatly impacted by trauma and we need all the mental health providers that are available such as those who are license eligible and providing mental health services under supervision.  Please do not increase the barriers for mental health services for children especially the low income children of our state.  As many grandparents have custody of their trauma impacted grandchildren, this will cause very serious issues with family stability and cause more children to overload our foster care system.  PLEASE THINK THROUGH THIS AND DO NOT LIMIT ACCESS.  Thank you in advance.  .
