julia wolfe DVM, DABVPTo Whom It May Concern,

I am in full support of non-licensed technicians placing IV catheters. I know we struggle to find enough licensed technicians to perform the tasks we need and  we cannot only pay what they're worth but also provide them with enough assistance to do their jobs.  I know I need all of my support staff assistants and technicians alike to have good patient care and support.  Please approve the motion to approve non-licensed technicians/assistants to place catheters.  They safe lives, time, and tech resources.  I had a recent case of an emergency euthanasia,  all of my technicians were busy taking radiographs and running anesthesia.  I needed assistance to place a catheter in a 19 year old cat in renal failure.  I will openly admit I am not the one to place that catheter, due to having my staff place all my catheters, I needed help.  I only had an experienced assistant available to me and no technicians.  I know I need all of my staff a ailable to help me place iv catheters and help suppprt sick patients.  Please take this letter as support of the action to allow non-technicians to place intravenous catheters in domestic animal patients
