I believe that letting an assistant place an I.V catheter without being licensed with only having consent from a doctor to do so is dangerous and potentially harmful for the animal. LVT's have put in time and effort and were properly trained to be able to do things such as place I.V catheters. It's unfair and unsafe to let assistants perform a task that people go to school to learn and become licensed to do.
