I oppose allowing unliceneed assistants to place IV catheters.It is a slippery slope to start traversing. Many comments have cited the lack of LVTs as the reason they support thisbut by supporting it they are devaluing the LVTs that are in practice. If LVTs are treated with respect and are treated and paid fairly more of us would stay in practice. Furthermore, I, personally, wouldn't want an unlicensed person placing my IVC. Would you?
