The ability to place an I.V. cather under the supervision of either a practicing veterinarian or a LVT does not deminish the quality of medicine in a well run and supervised practice. May of our most skilled veterinary nurses are not licenced and have instructed others with great skill and technique. We must remember that veterinary technicians have only become licenced over the most recent history of our profession. The key to this amendment is that these technicians and nurses are "supervised" or under the direction of the veterinarian.
