Allowing this to pass would only be a detriment to our patient care. Unlicensed personel do not have the knowledge and training to notice possible causes for concern. This will only lead to burred catheters and phlebitis. Our patients deserve LVTs working on them just like we deserve to have trained technicians and nurses. Is the 1 or 2 minutes of time saved worth the potential patient harm?
