Do Not Support

I do not support this. I think that only LVT's or DVMs should only be placing IV catheters. There are multiple reasons for this: 1) It does take more skill and knowlege to placing an IVC compared to blood draws. 2) IVC placements help support LVT jobs 3) If someone really would like to learn and place IV catherters they should go to school (which should be encouraged!) Becoming an LVT in Virginia is becoming easier and easier! 4) Having limitations on who can do this helps our image in the Vet Med field- people try to compare Veterinary Medicine with human medicine for example. Please consider this and help push more LVTs in Virgnina than changing the laws.
