I do not agree with allowing an unlicensed individual to place a catheter in a patient. Come on people and wake up. For the Doctors that are for this, wonder why? Money!?! We became educated as technicians for a reason, just as you did as a Doctor. I wouldn't want someone trying to place an IV catheter on my own animal without the skill and education of a technician or a Doctor. Wake up people. What is next? Oh, the volunteer can do the neuter today? I feel like people have lost their minds. You are going to put tons of technicians out of a jobs and/or extremely lower their pay for all the continuing education they have done, money towards college, and dedication toward their job. This is complete reversal of how it should be toward technicians, it is a struggle as it is. Then to be saying oh education doesn't matter, let's just show them.... the words I would like to say. And yes I am extremely compassionate about what I do.
