As acupuncture of chinese medicine has been performed for more than thousands years,and helped chinese to get rid of diseases and pain,I have to say it is very good thing. I am a TCM doctor with 8 years of TCL education and 30 years of medical work,so that I suggest US physical practicor to spend 5 years to learn it. The health and right of people is the most important. I give you a question that you should find good TCM doctor with enough education and experience when you are ill, but do not choose somebody with only 50~100 hours toneedle you.
