I strongly support the lawful carrying of concealed handguns with a CCH permit and openly in all State forests. The government of VA cannot protect its citizens in the State forests and thus should follow the U. S. Constution, and allow law-abiding citizens to carry a handgun for personal and family protection while they enjoy the forests of the state.
Clearly it is not in the public interest to disarm law-abiding VA citizens while they may face the threat of armed criminals and other miscreants in the State forests. VA CCH permitees have a commendable record in safety and legal handgun use and ownership. CCH permitees and law-biding open-carrying VA citizens are not the problem -- armed criminals and other miscreants are.
