Dry needling is NOT its own separate and distinct modality. Dry needling is acupuncture, done with acupuncture needles, to be performed by licensed acupuncturists ONLY.  Acupuncturists undergo hundreds upon hundreds of hours of training in the classroom and in the clinical setting to learn how to safely insert needles in to the human body.  Chiropractors and PTs performing dry needling are operating outside of their scope of practice with insufficient training. It is a danger to the commonwealth to allow this practice to continue.
